Torbole sul Garda Sports

summer

Torbole sul Garda is well known for its bathing and water sports, such as windsurfing and sailing, but in recent years kite surfing has also become quite popular. Two important meeting places for enthusiasts of these sports are the Torbole Surf Club and the Torbole sailing club and there are several schools for learning these sports. From the town of Riva del Garda you can explore the depths of Lake Garda and see the statue of Christ that stands at the bottom of the Baia Azzurra bay. For those who love to follow routes fitted with cables or iron steps the recently built route that goes from Torbole to Tempesta, overlooking Lake Garda and 4 km in length, is not to be missed; it cannot be followed by mountain bike. For those who prefer to use two wheels there is no shortage of cycle lanes linking Torbole sul Garda with Riva del Garda, Arco and Rovereto and passing through Nago. The torrents that descend from the mountains towards Lake Garda offer plenty of opportunity to do some canyoning and if you want to play a game of beach volley, five-a-side football, or a tennis match you can do that too. For those who enjoy fishing and have a proper licence then there is an abundance of fish in Lake Garda. As far as Nago is concerned there are many routes for mountain walks, mountain biking and free climbing. From the meadows of Nago on Monte Baldo (1700 m above sea level) you can paraglide or hang-glide, with a wonderful view of Lake Garda.

winter

Just a 15 minute drive away is the Monte Baldo cable car, where you can go skiing whilst enjoying the magnificent views of Lake Garda, and if the kilometres of slopes on Monte Baldo are not enough there is a shuttle bus service that goes to the nearby slopes of Polsa – San Valentino. Walks, on snow shoes, through the woods, such as the Golosa Neve, are organised quite frequently.
